Award win for SuperSpace AR app
Date: 26th January 2021
Red Frog Digital’s work on the McDonald’s SuperSpace AR app has been recognised with a prestigious award.
The app was part of a McDonald’s Germany campaign that aims to encourage families to read books together. Using augmented reality (AR) to bring the content to life, the app is part of an initiative that has delivered more that 80 million free books to families.
The SuperSpace app uses the power of AR to transport the user into space via a dramatic rocket launch, enabling them to explore deep space and fly among the planets of our solar system. The whole experience culminates in landing on the moon’s surface and an astronaut taking that giant leap for mankind.
The app was recognised by being awarded the Chairman’s Award at the Effective Mobile Marketing Awards.
Chair of Judges, David Murphy, said: “All entries in the AR/VR category were outstanding in terms of the quality of the AR experience, but for me, this was the best of them all. For a child to experience the thrill of seeing a rocket take off and land on the moon before their very eyes delivered by this app, must be absolutely spellbinding. A beautiful piece of work.”
David Loveridge, CEO of Red Frog Digital, added: “Producing highly-engaging, exceptional customer experiences that deliver fantastic results is what we exist to do. It’s a huge honour to have been recognised with this award and is testament to the hugely talented team at Red Frog Digital.”
